Summary

We are seeking an experienced .NET software developer who will write Windows based applications that interact with databases, web services, Windows services, the Meditech HCIS and other healthcare related systems.

Duties

Essential Functions – Performs all of the following

• Collaborate with developers, programmers, analysts and designers in conceptualizing, developing and testing new software programs and applications
• Work effectively with project management, support and other internal departments
• Communicate status updates as appropriate. Use good judgement to determine problems that may need escalation
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required

• 5 years experience developing in both Windows and database environments
• 3-4 years using .NET (VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET)
• Solid understanding of Windows development techniques and Microsoft development tools/ environments
• Understanding of Windows services
• Understanding of multithreaded design
• Database connectivity (ADO/ADO.NET, ODBC, OLE DB, etc.)
• Proficient in TSQL
• Working knowledge of SQL 2005/2008 and its related tools (e.g. SSMS, SQL Profiler, etc.)
• Good knowledge of both Windows development and database development
• Ability to work both in a team and alone
• Good communication skills, both written and oral
• Comfortable gathering requirements from business users

Desired, but not required

• Hospital information systems knowledge
• Web development experience (ASP.NET)
• Experience programming in Visual Basic
• Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) or Silverlight experience
