Summary
This position involves development, implementation and maintenance of database driven web applications. The developer will assist with SQL installations, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and database development. This development includes writing stored procedures, views, DTS packages, SSIS packages, user defined functions, etc.
Duties
Essential Functions – Performs all of the following
- Managing SQL Server databases across multiple servers
- Monitoring and managing custom backup/restore and disaster recovery plans
- Administering and securing Microsoft SQL Servers
- Supporting SSIS packages, SQL Agent jobs, stored procedures, scheduled tasks, batch jobs and other processes and work flows
- Designing and developing SSRS reports
- Performing routing and periodic database maintenance
- Monitoring and maintaining the company's proprietary ETL tool on remote servers
- Assisting in source control of new and existing databases
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required
- 2+ years of hands on SQL Server experience
- Working knowledge of SQL 2005/2008 and its related tools (e.g. SSMS, SQL Profiler, etc.)
- Working knowledge of SQL Server component services (e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
- Experience supporting MS SQL server database systems on the Windows 2003 and 2008 platforms
- Experience working with very large databases
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong team and organization skills
- Proficient in TSQL
Desired, but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with healthcare applications, specifically MEDITECH
- Microsoft SQL Server training and/ or certifications (MCSE, MCDBA, MCTS)
- Experience with Red Gate Database Tools
- DBA experience supporting Business Intelligence in healthcare is a plus
