IPeople Direct - Database Driver

Direct, Real-time Access to Your MEDITECH Data Through ODBC/OLE DB/ADO.NET

The first and only product to provide direct, real-time access to all MEDITECH data through a native ODBC/OLE DB/ADO.NET connection. This powerful tool ensures that the data queried is fresh and accurate. IPeople Direct provides users access to over 4,500 additional MEDITECH tables that are otherwise inaccessible through the NPR Report Writer. Additional Magic and NPR-based vendor applications (e.g. LSS and MSM) can be mapped for querying in conjunction with the MEDITECH querying process.

REPORT WRITING IPeople Direct allows you to query your live MEDITECH data through applications such as Microsoft^® Excel, Microsoft^® Access, and Crystal Reports. Link multiple tables, applications, and catalogs; select desired fields; and return data effortlessly into the PC-based front-end application.

CUSTOM FORMS and VIEWS IPeople Direct allows users to employ any web scripting language that supports ODBC/OLE DB/ADO.NET to retrieve data and display the results on a web form. Consider also that by creating an ADO connection, users can build Visual Basic front-end user applications that display MEDITECH data in real-time.

TABLE VIEWER Preview data to ensure accurate table/field selection during the report or interface development process. Quickly identify fields, tables, and table relationships in MEDITECH.

SMARTJOIN TECHNOLOGY Create efficient joins across tables, applications and catalogs simultaneously, eliminating the need for fragments. Our SmartJoin technology provides a listing of efficient joins across 3 million table/field combinations and alerts users of errors if an inaccurate join is attempted.

SECURITY Control which data can be accessed by a user at the facility, database, table and column levels. IPeople’s security layer supports Windows Authentication, defined MEDITECH user/password or customized IPeople Connect user/password.

AUDIT LOGS Monitor user activity by tracking user information, activity date and time, and executed SQL statements.

The flexible ODBC layer of IPeople Connect's driver gives you the power to directly access your MEDITECH database utilizing more universally known tools such as Microsoft^® Word, Microsoft^® SQL Server, Microsoft^® Excel, Crystal Reports, and hundreds of other ODBC or OLE DB compliant applications. The link between IPeople Direct and direct access to MEDITECH data is provided by one of several interfacing layers including API, ODBC and OLE DB. These layers enable applications to access data in database management systems using Structured Query Language (SQL) as a standard.
